JOHN SCHMERMUND - CEO
As the founder of BLS Construction, Inc., John has always maintained his goal for each project - quality. John built the company from the ground up and has maintained a successful construction process for over 30 years. At an early age he was determined to build a strong work ethic and increase the integrity of the company. He recently handed down the President title and responsibilities to William Key, although he is continuing to work closely with the entire team to ensure success of the company. He stays up-to-date on each project so he can give instruction when needed or requested. John finds his work very rewarding and is always working to establish new business relationships, of which often turn into lifetime friendships. His customers and friends often describe him as detailed, personable and adventurous.
WILLIAM KEY - PRESIDENT/CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
William started with the company in 2005 and his goals have been the same since day one. He is determined to grow the company and find new ways to be successful. During his time with BLS, William quickly worked his way to the top and recently gained title as President of the company. He has a business degree from Southwestern University and uses it every day with his focus of business first and play later. He approaches each project with enthusiasm and maintains a positive attitude throughout the challenges. William continues to be very proficient at managing the business, his project managers, superintendents, subcontractors and employees. Estimating projects continue to be one of William's main jobs as this is an important and integral part of being awarded a project. Repeat business with satisfied clients is on the rise and most of this is due to the dedication he has to each job. William is often described by his customers as honest, a realist and a "get-it-done" kind of guy.
FRANK SCHMERMUND, IV - CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER
You will often find Frank out at the job site regardless of how many jobs are in progress. His focus is to make sure all jobs are constructed per specifications and that each superintendent understands the project. Frank's hands-on experience combined with his military service allows him to be a creative problem solver, which is often needed in the construction world. Frank is not often intimidated by the complexity of any job and his calm and honest approach is a benefit to the project. He is responsible for overall supervision of all facets of the construction process. His 30 plus years of experience and attitude continue to contribute a large amount to the success of the company.
