BLS Construction, Inc. was founded in 1982 by William Key’s father-in-law, John Schmermund, who had a vision for providing quality commercial construction services throughout the local community and to successfully grow it to serve the Gulf Coast region. John’s brother, Frank Schmermund, joined the business and they made a hard-to-beat team by combining their business and engineering minds. Within the first 5 years of being a General Contractor, John’s vision became a reality and after 25 years, many successful projects were completed and relationships created. In 2005, his son-in-law, William Key, joined the family business and became the perfect addition and leader for BLS Construction, Inc. William picked up on the construction process very quickly and added his business experience, expertise and motivation to the team. William and Britni Key took ownership of the company in 2015 and have continued to gain new clients as well as work with ones that had business relationships from the beginning of BLS. Our commercial construction projects have grown in quality, quantity and square footage. The dedicated BLS team has also grown, further enhancing the capabilities of the company. This family owned business understands how to engage relationships while paying attention to every detail of the construction process to ensure a positive project completion.
